(Introduction, Situation and facilities; Population, Festivals, Conclusion)
I was born in the village Silatimunda. It is my native place. It is a revenue village in the district of Subarnapur under Tarbha Tahasil.
My village Silatimunda is situated between Tarbha and Laxmimunda. It is a very big village. There is a market place at the middle of the village. There are two primary schools, one M.E. school, a high school, a college, a Post Office, a public library, Gram Panchayat Office, a P.H.C., a Veterinary dispensary and a homoeopathic clinic, two allopathic clinics in my village. There are temples of Lord Shiva and Lord Jagannath in my village. The river Tel is flowing by my village. There are two large ponds in my village. It has become a small town.
The population of my village is about three thousand. There are people of many castes in my village. Priests, swordsmen, washermen, fishermen milkmen, masons, carpenters, weavers, grocers, barbers live in my village. Some Muslims and Christians also live with us. Most of people are farmers. There are many teachers, doctors, lawyers, contractors, police officers in my village Some of them are in cities and towns out side the village. My villagers celebrate many festivals through out the year. The main celebrations are Shivaratri, Car festival, Durga puja, Holi and Baliyatra. Many people come to enjoy the festivals from nearby villages. My village is a place of national integration.
I love my village very much. I can't forget the pleasure of my childhood.
